EVERYONE must be committed to excellence in ALL they do EVERY day.
This past Wednesday was administrative assistant day. I think everyone in our building knows how important Marsha Felmlee and Debra Lujan are to the school. Personally I could not thank them enough for their tireless work ethic and drive for our staff and students in Center High School. In the last few years my job as a principal has changed drastically. If you have been reading my Viking Weekly on a consistent basis, you see how important being in classrooms is for this school. That means many other things have been transitioned to other folks. Marsha and Deb have taken on more and more tasks because they realize how important it is to free the secondary principals from the little things. I have asked both of them for more and more and they always respond. They both are very friendly and they have a great rapport with our staff, students and community. The best part of working so closely with them is they are great people! And they do a great job of putting up with me! Thank you Marsha and Debra for being the best in the business! You do a great job of running this school :)

This past Saturday night was Center’s 2014 Prom. This dance is a year long process. The Junior Class is responsible for putting the dance together. The year long process starts with raising money for the Prom. The Junior Class traditionally get concession stand for the bigger sporting events to help raise money. The Junior Class sponsors this year are Julie Weatherford, Stefan Welsh, Lee Flood and Diego Martinez. All four teachers put in extra time and work to fundraise, meet, plan and put on an outstanding prom. I congratulate all the Juniors for their “Black and White” themed event. I personally would like to thank a couple of parents for their support in helping throughout the year. Maria Villagomez and Ramona Vargas have donated plenty of hours to help the Juniors with this event. A final shout out to Katrina Ruggles for supporting our students with activities for after prom. Thanks to all the volunteers that donated their time for after prom. The goal was to put on a fun, safe and structured event for our students and their guests. Great job to everyone involved.
