This week I would like to recognize one of our outstanding parents, Liz Venzor. She is a parent who has been involved with our district for years. This year Liz volunteered to be on a couple of committees. Liz has accepted the responsibility as a new member of our BLT (Building Leadership Team). Liz also served on our DAC (District Accountability Team) as well. As a BLT member, Liz will be able to give a parent’s perspective on the various decisions we discuss on a monthly basis. I believe that parental input is valuable to the educational system. I appreciate Liz volunteering for these two positions and I encourage any parent in our district to get involved with our schools as we continue to grow.
With our support ALL children can achieve at high levels and be successful in life
Next, I want to thank Soyla Guadiana and Julie Weatherford for their efforts in making parent contacts for every student in their class. Ms. Guadiana took it upon herself to contact and invite every parent to conferences later in the week. Mrs. Weatherford reported that she had a high number of parents attend last Wednesday and Thursday. This approach of going above and beyond proves that communication with parents/guardians will help improve the success of our students. This strategy shows our core value of increasing academic achievement for all students.
Trinidad Bucio
This week we had two students that received a good conduct award. Carlos Ramos and Trinidad Bucio received the awards from Mrs. Ruggles for their willingness to go above and beyond inside and out of the classroom. These two students volunteered to help clean up on ICAP day. They cleaned up and helped Mrs. Ruggles of their own accord. Trinidad and Carlos continue to prove that Center has the best students in the state.
