Center High School continues to educate!
This past week’s walk throughs were a great example of our teachers following our core beliefs. I had the chance to walk through the following middle/high school teachers (Braiden, Weatherford, Rice, Jones, Flood, Rounds, K. Newmyer, Ruggles, Garcia, Schoenfelder, Atencio, G. Martinez, Donaldson, J. Martinez and Parker). It was a great feeling to observe our teachers in each classroom as they reassured me that we will continue to follow our core believe of our purpose is to increase academic achievement for ALL students. Great job to all our teachers for continuing to do great things up until the last day of school.
I would like to congratulate our own Ofelia Gonzalez as her hard work and dedication paid off. She was recently awarded a Colorado Masonic Scholarship! Ofelia is a student who deserved recognition for her academic work. Ofelia has put in many extra hours during her high school career. Ofelia volunteers her own time towards helping others in our school. While many other high school students are not attending school in the summer, Ofelia has continued to grow by attending Adams State’s Upward Bound program. While applying for many scholarships, Ofelia’s hard work and extra dedication has rewarded her with this outstanding honor. Congratulations!
This past week –
I was busy this week conducting many walk throughs, working on new staff hiring’s and interviews. Also I had the chance to meet our new Boettcher candidate as she will be doing her internship with Mr. Newmyer. I stayed after school on Monday for the evening awards, Tuesday for DAC and BOE. Wednesday through Saturday I traveled to Denver for state track. Also, I flew to Tulsa and back to watch my nephew graduate from Broken Arrow High School. He was a part of the graduating class of 1,145 students. On my way back from Denver I watched our high school baseball team in Pueblo on Saturday.
The week ahead-
Sunday-Mrs. Zimmerman and I are working on evaluations. Monday-all coaches will be meeting at 7:00 a.m. for hs athletic awards. I will meet with teachers on their final evaluations. We also have a DLT meeting that afternoon. Tuesday-I will be meeting on final evaluations and conduct new teacher interviews. Students will check out during 4th hour. At 12:30 we will be having our end of the year awards assembly in the auditorium. Wednesday-is full of meetings, final evaluations, an appreciation lunch where we will honor Lloyd Garcia and Russ Braiden for their dedication to Center School District. The day will end with signing out teachers and many meetings for next year.
