Good Morning-
After communicating with many other districts in and out of the Valley this last month, this makes me realize how good we have it here in Center. Many other surrounding districts have a superintendent that last anywhere from 1-3 years. I believe that it takes that long to develop relationships to strive what is right in each district. I would like to thank our Superintendent George Welsh for everything he does for our school district and state! I don’t really think that all of our staff and community realize what he does for all of our students. George has a vision, drive and work ethic to do the “RIGHT” thing for our students. Mr. Welsh does everything he can to support all of us to help the students and staff in our district. He is very approachable, and easy to discuss the hard issues that arise in a district. He relies on many leaders to help him make decisions. George works hard with the state (CDE) and CASE to try to make our state a better place to teach and learn. Also, he is working with many valley schools on implementing the right strategies to be successful. I could list many more…but I think sometimes I take for granted how lucky we are to have a person that makes decisions based solely on the well being of students. Thanks to George Welsh, we get recognized for the work we are doing in our district. I believe to be successful; you need a George Welsh at the top to lead us to our ultimate goals with our students! Thanks George for all you do for Center!
If you look at Georges decisions, they directly align to all of our core beliefs. Therefore, Mr. Welsh gets recognition for following all our core beliefs:
1. Our purpose is to increase student academic ALL achievement
2. With our support ALL children can achieve at high levels
3. Quality planning, instruction, and assessments lead to high student achievement ALL.
4. There is NO excuse for poor quality instruction
5. We are preparing ALL our students to be successful in life
6. EVERYONE must be committed to the pursuit of excellence
