I wanted to thank Arabia Morgan for taking the lead role in calculating Center High School’s merit points. Arabia is at our district, because she is part of the AmeriCorps Vista Volunteers. Last week Ms. Morgan typed the following message to motivate all high school students. She sent it to them in an e-mail.

On Monday, October 21 at 6:00 PM Della Vieira, from Saguache County Public Health Department, will hold an informational meeting about the new health care marketplace and other information about the Affordable Care Act. This meeting will include details about new requirements for Medicaid and other services and will be held in the library community room. Della is bilingual (English/Spanish), so she should be able to serve most community members.
If you are unable to attend this meeting, but would like more information about the Affordable Care Act, you may email Della at [email protected]. Additionally, the library has several informational flyers which may be helpful.

The week ahead for Mr. Jones
Monday-I will work on a few items to prepare for the week. At 9:00 we have an on site PLC with Ellicott School District. At this PLC, we will be reviewing lesson plan, conducting walk throughs and we will be communicating on best administration practices. I plan on attending the first part of the get moving training at 3:30.
Tuesday -I will be in Del Norte to attend our 2nd valley administration PLC. We plan on walking through many classes in Del Norte. At this time, Del Norte is going to share with all of us, something we can use for our schools. In the afternoon, I will be back on campus. We have our monthly DAC, BOE meeting.
Wednesday-Early morning BLT meeting at 6:45. I have many instructional walk throughs planned. These walk throughs will be with many of our classroom teachers. I have an NWEA skills pointer meeting and a tutoring orientation meeting all after school.
Thursday- is open to conduct regular administration duties.
Friday-Is a planned personal day. If not, I will be attending the BOCES (Senate Bill 191 meeting) in Alamosa.
Have a great week!
