Before we all left school for our winter break, Center High School senior Victoria Valdez-Lujan started a toy drive for the senior class. (Under Christmas Seniors) The seniors used their class money to buy these gifts for kids. Victoria decided that she and her family would share their good fortune with others because of all Victoria has seen Mrs. Rounds do with Key Club and the other projects. Victoria bought and wrapped over a dozen presents and gift bags with hats, gloves and scarves. The hats, gloves and scarves were a welcome site in the fourth grade classes. The toys went to preschool and lower elementary students. Their parents were overjoyed with the generosity of this 10th grade student. Thank you Victoria for helping children in your community!
Mr. Flood’s business math class has been working on various projects in class to implement business practices. They have been given a task to start their own business and the class has chosen to create a video game tournament. If you get a chance please check out their class blog they are working on: http://madden2013dp.weebly.com/
The week before break-
I was able to conduct some more quarterly walk throughs. I observed some really good teaching and reviews before quarterly assessments. I attended some necessary attendance RTI meetings. We hosted Rocky Ford administration team on process and school procedures. I was able to process many payroll requests. I was able to witness Ms. Harmon’s science students conducting some chemistry experiments for elementary students. And I ended the week in Grand Junction watching our wrestling team compete in the Warrior Classic.
The week ahead-
Monday-I start off with 2 early RTI meetings for students. I will be looking at weekly lesson plans and giving feedback. I plan on starting to work on midyear evaluations all week long.
Tuesday-I have a couple of meeting with PEBC and town folks. I hope to drop into a couple of classes and conduct my regular duties.
Wednesday-I will be in Alamosa all morning meeting with Jerry Green from Alamosa and attending our monthly AD meeting. I will be back on campus in the afternoon.
Thursday- I have set aside some time to work on midyear evaluations. We host 4 basketball games vs. John Mall.
Friday-we have our RTT PLC in Sanford. I will be heading back to Center for our basketball games vs. Creede.
Saturday- I plan on covering events either in Pagosa or La Veta.
Have a great week and welcome back!
