EVERYONE must be committed to excellence in ALL they do EVERY day.
I would really like to recognize some folk for their outstanding awareness regarding the incident earlier in the week. With great communication from Mrs. Ruggles to Mrs. Zimmerman this incident was handled in a very professional manner. Sometimes there is a fine line when a staff member looks at comments and
has to follow up. I am thankful that there was no follow through on the comments made and that we are ALL (staff and students) safe today. It was a valuable lesson for us all. Communication is essential in our world. The entire district did a great job of keeping everyone informed on this issue. Please remember to act on the side of safety and report any suspicious acts to the proper authorities.
Congratulations are in order to Edgar Gonzalez for receiving a “Good Conduct” award from Mrs. Alfson. Edgar went out of his way to help interpret this week for Mrs. Alfson. He helped her keep lines of communication open between staff and parents. Thanks for your contribution to our school, Edgar. You are appreciated.
Maria Villagomez is another staff member who is always willing to help out in short notice and make my job easier. There were some changes made to some policies this year. Maria is always willing to translate any documents into Spanish at any time. I appreciate you and your efforts Maria. Thank you!
Having Kent Rominger in our building on Friday was a great honor. It was a great way to end the week on a positive note. Thank you Daniel Newmyer, for contacting Kent and getting him into our building on Friday to dedicate our math and science wings of the new school. It was great honor to have a local hero in our building. He had some great things to say about Center and our school. A quote I remember Kent saying was “I have been in over 100 schools; Center High School is at the top on my list”. Thank you Mr. Newmyer!
This past week-
This past week was spent on finishing the Senate Bill 191 mid-year evaluations. Also I had many meetings on behavior issues and grades. Obviously the middle of week was spent dealing with issues regarding the comments made on Facebook. Friday was spent all day conducting interviews for the Behavior Specialist job for the district.
The committee decided to offer the job to Jose Chavez pending board approval. Friday evening I was administration in charge at our home basketball games. Saturday afternoon I was administration in charge at the basketball games in Sanford.
The week ahead-
Monday- I have a couple of make-up follow up mid-year conferences with teachers to conduct. I will conduct classroom walk throughs as well.
Tuesday- PEBC will be on campus mentoring me about leadership in schools. I also will finish up mid-year evaluations with teachers. ICAP review will be after school.
Wednesday- ICAP review will take place in the morning. PLC will take place in the afternoon. (Wear your ICAP
t-shirt).
Thursday- I will be in Alamosa with PEBC as part of the Boettcher mentoring program. I will be conducting walk throughs in the afternoon.
Friday-I will be data sharing with students during Mr. Poole’s classes. I plan to head to Paonia for a wrestling on Saturday.
Saturday- I will be attending the Paonia wrestling tournament.
Have a great week!
