EVERYONE must be committed to excellence in ALL they do EVERY day.
We have had a very productive year thus far. I have witnessed some great instruction and learning going on. I would REALLY like to stress how important it is to continue this great learning and instruction. I realize that there are many interruptions and adjusted schedules towards the end of the year. I know that many students are not present during these hectic spring days. It is our job as educators to continue to educate those students that are present in our classes during these days. PLEASE continue with great instruction!! Let’s continue to do what is best for our students. Remember our goal is to increase academic achievement for ALL students!
The past week-
Tuesday afternoon I attended a JV baseball game in Sargent. Wednesday morning started with an early morning BLT meeting. I then attended our monthly SPL athletic directors meeting in Alamosa. I returned to school to review lesson plans for the week. I stayed late that evening catching up on paperwork and payroll. Thursday, Carrie and I meet to develop the PLC agenda. I spent most of Thursday dealing with discipline issues/UA’s. I started the girls’ soccer games against Pagosa Springs and the JV baseball games against Salida. That evening I attended the calendar committee meeting. Friday I wrote by school board report for this upcoming week. I wrote a letter of recommendation. I attended the Sand Dunes/Southwest Conservation Corporation presentation in the auditorium. I sat in on practice interviews for Alexa Lobato and Paul Lopez, they are applying for the Daniel’s Fund Scholarship. I conducted classroom walk throughs all afternoon. I ended the evening by catching up on e-mail and many field trip requisitions.
The week ahead-
Monday I have meeting with Mr.Welsh, Mrs. Zimmerman, and Mrs. Felmlee to discuss next year’s schedules. I will participate in more practice interviews, review lesson plans, and travel to Denver. I will pick up some donuts at Crispy Crème Doughnut (a fundraiser for our Seniors). Mr. Welsh and I will be taking a group of students to the Space Foundation at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. We will also be present to watch Mr. Newmyer receive his award for the Alan Sheppard Award. Tuesday I have multiple meetings to attend (DAC, Dream Team, SPARK, and a school board meeting). I will also continue practice interviews for the Daniel’s Fund Scholarship. Wednesday morning will begin with ICAP and the afternoon the district will participate in our monthly PLC. Thursday I hope to conduct some walk throughs. I have DLT all afternoon. Friday is open to conduct walk throughs and answer e-mails. Saturday I will attend the varsity baseball game versus Sanford.
Have a fantastic week!
