I would like to complement and congratulate Kate Newmyer and all of her band performers as they were able to exhibit a variety of talents last Wednesday evening in the center school auditorium. The evening performance had a variety of solo ensembles, group performances, Christmas music and a competition between the six graders with a battle of the bands. The evening was filled with fun, humor and a Holiday spirit that cannot be matched. Congratulations to all the students who practiced and prepared to show their talents on display Wednesday evening. I would like to thank the large audience of parents, teachers, administrators, family and community members that attended this evenings event.
This past week-
Monday- I was able to review some lesson plans, meet about some behavior and attendance issues, go to lunch with a private scholarship donor and I was able to get into classrooms. I stayed for our C team games vs. Del Norte.
Tuesday-I was able to push some payroll. I conducted some walk throughs, had meetings on students and the math department on our progress. The night ended with our monthly DAC/BOE meetings.
Wednesday-I had a CNA meeting with Alice and George. I prepared for the VAA tournament, and I was able to conduct a couple of spot observations. I was able to attend the vocational advisory lunch at Azteca with Mrs. Lori Cooper and Mr. Mark Jones.
Thursday- Mrs. Zimmerman and I met with some community members, and I spent the majority of the day looking at NWEA data for rewards/tutoring/ instruction. I watched 169 students celebrate their NWEA rewards in the auxiliary gym during 6th and 7th periods.
Friday-I was able to get 2 walk throughs finished, and I spent the majority of the day in the admin PLC on SB 191. I was able to slide out of the PLC to help receive our award from Commissioner Hammond.
Saturday- I was in Center all day long for 19 games, as we hosted our 7th annual Viking Athletic Association basketball tournament. Our Center High School Blue team won the boys championship. Also, in Grand Junction our wrestling team won the Grand Junction dual as they beat 5 teams to win the championship.
