I would like to start out my weekly communication with thanking all of the high school teachers for the great things they are doing on a daily basis in each of their classes. After conducting many walk throughs it is evident that our staff continues to get better. With Mrs. Zimmerman and me finishing our quarterly walk throughs we truly can report that our teachers continue to follow our core beliefs. Teachers are developing their lesson plans from our designated curriculum. They post a teachable objective off of the plan. They use the standard lesson delivery format (I do, we do and you do). They continue to use various engagement techniques and strategies to ensure that all students are engaged in the lesson. And the teachers make sure the students retained the objective by giving them a daily formative assessment (DFA). I thank all high school teachers-Diane Parker, Lloyd Garcia, Dennis Schoenfelder, Kindra Rounds, Russ Braiden, Kate Newmyer, Daniel Newmyer, Katrina Ruggles, Carolyn Ruybal, Julie Weatherford, Diego Martinez, Mark Jones, Lauren McEvoy, Lee Flood, Scott Poole, Annie Rice, Cynthia Gallagher and Allan Allsup. Thank you for a tremendous start to our year. Keep up the great work and thank you all for following our core beliefs!

Instructional Walks at CHS
With that said, I want to thank Diane Parker, Russ Braiden, Daniel Newmyer and Kindra Rounds for taking time to conduct some instructional walks these last couple of weeks. All of these teachers had great advice for improving instruction. They were able to see a different side of the walk through process.
My hope is that they got to see something to improve their teaching. I know they were able to offer a
different perspective and information to each teacher for feedback. My plan is to take each teacher on instructional walks throughout the year.
This past week-
Monday-I took a personal day and Mrs. Zimmerman said it was a calm day.
Tuesday-I conducted many walk througs in the morning, attended a health meeting, sat in on a panel for a working together project, and attended the district accountability and BOE
meeting.
Wednesday-I continued with walk throughs. I spent the majority of my day on investigating some issues that happened outside of
school.
Thursday-we met early to discuss our post secondary plan for ICAP days and I spent more time on investigation of students
that made some poor choices.
Friday-I attended the all valley consortium at Sargent .
