With our support ALL children can achieve at high levels and be successful in life
On Friday, I scheduled a meeting with Chris Vance (Center’s On Line Director) to discuss our progression with math instruction. I rely on Chris as he has been a math educator and a principal. Chris understands the difficulty we have regarding improvement in math at Center High School. Chris and I were discussing how some of our students were doing in his program and enrolled in his classes. In our discussion, Mr. Vance happened to mention the work one of our students was doing in the on line academy. He stated that this student was logging on every day and he was keeping up with all his work. I would attribute many of these work habits to Brandon Selby. Mr. Selby prepared lessons and walks to this student’s house on a daily basis. After having a great conversation with Chris Vance it was evident how hard Brandon Selby is working with an off campus student on a daily basis. This student is off campus due to disciplinary reasons. Mr. Selby prepares a daily lesson, walks to the student’s house and helps this student with his work. Mr. Selby makes this student accountable for his work and the progress he is able to make.
