Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! There are not enough enough words to let all of our teachers know how much I appreciate all their hard work and dedication towards our students in Center. Although the media has a perception that teachers get the summers and holidays off, I would encourage anyone to follow our teachers around for a week to understand how hard teaching is as a career. OUR teachers are expected to go above and beyond with their preparation, planning and execution of each lesson. As a show of our appreciation, Mrs. Zimmerman and I will be buying a lunch sometime this week. Keep your eye our for an e-mail on Monday.
Congratulations to the seniors for their merit point win. The merit points are awarded based on behavior, zaps, tardies, and eligibility. They went to Hooper pool on Friday as this was voted on as their reward. Thanks needs to go out to Mrs. Rice and Mr. Poole for volunteering to sponsor this trip for the seniors.
The girls’ soccer team concluded their season this past week. The drastic improvement of this team was very impressive. They have gained many skills during this past season as well as developed as a team. I believe this great improvement should be attributed to coaching as well as the hard work by the team. They all put in countless hours this past summer and their perseverance truly showed on the field. Thank you to all the players and coaches (Selby, Koerber and Smith) for your dedication and hard work. It was very evident this past season. Keep up the hard work.
The Center Baseball team has also concluded their regular season this past weekend. The baseball team has put on an impressive show on the diamond. They were undefeated in league 10-0 and 16-3 for the season. They have gained the number one seed for this upcoming weekend playoff game, to be held in Alamosa at ASU. It is fun to watch such great baseball in the valley and even better that it is our own Center Vikings. Thanks needs to go out to Lloyd Garcia and ALL of his coaching staff. Lloyd has always been very dedicated to Center Baseball and it is truly appreciated. All the details of the playoff weekend are yet to be determined so keep an eye on Facebook to keep updated. GO VIKINGS!!!
